People are searching for love in so many ways! They look for romantic love, they want the platonic love of a friend, they depend on the love found in family relationships. At the time I did research for writing this, I found that people were searching for the word “love” in their search engine between 11,000 and 15,000 per hour. That ends up to over 2 million searches this week!
Love is something we crave, but we need to remember that we won’t find perfect love from anyone but God, the one who loved us first. God’s Word can provide us the perfect template for love in showing us God’s love, and help us love others in a way that reflects Him. Here are 10 Bible Verses about love.
“We love him, because he first loved us.” I John 4:19
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
“This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.” 1 John 3:23
“A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17
“Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:11
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
