I have been writing much more this month because of my own goal of posting each day for 31 days. There’s a word prompt each day, and earlier this month, I assigned a verse for each of those days. Prior to writing this, I got into an argument with myself about how much I should write today, what kind of writing I should do, and what my goals were for today. And then I looked at the verse for today.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10 ESV
I was humbled by this verse. I was focused on what I could get done today. Even though what I have planned today supports goals and objectives that I think God wants me to do, the top of the list, the very first thing, is to have a heart that reflects being still before God. I spent time being thankful and grateful for what God has done in my life. I prayed that my words and tasks today would glorify Him. Maybe what I do today won’t exalt Him among the nations, but I can exalt God in this house and this community.
Father, we thank You that You are God. We pray that we will be still before You. May You be exalted in our lives, even during difficult trials. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
