“Safe!” “Safe.” “Safe!” The cries rang out from us kids as we played another game of hide and seek. I remember the rush of trying to sneak back to “home” without the person designated as “it” catching me. I could rest once I returned to that spot and declared myself “safe!”
Life is not as carefree as those times when I played hide and seek. Life’s a lot more complicated and tiring! Yet even as we go through trials, we can find refuge in God and find ourselves in a safe place.
Psalm 34:8 ESV tells us, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” Whether it has been a few hours or many years since you have found yourself taking refuge in the Lord, He is there for you. God will be that safe place that you desire. You will be able to get through difficult times with Him and through Him.
Father, Thank You that you are a place of refuge for us. We can rest in You and Your plan for us. Thank You for taking us through these difficult times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
