“You shall write them on the doorposts of our house and on your gates.” Deut 6:9
I have a few favorite older shows and movies. One of them is “The West Wing”, which honestly is not 100% match for me, but I love the “workplace drama” of it all. I watched the show when it was on, then on DVD, and then on streaming. I have seen this show many, many times. Sometimes, I quote the lines to my husband because not only have I heard them many times, they have occurred to me in my head as I navigate everyday life. These quotes are well-practiced in my thoughts.
So much more important is what is contained in God’s Word! “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” Ps. 119:30 Putting God’s Word in your heart, whether it be through memorization, listening to it, reading it, or learning more about it, is part of practicing His Word over and over again in your mind, of writing it around your “doorposts and gates”, so that it will always be on your mind and in your heart.
How do you practice the Word of God in your life?
