“Melissa, was it?”
“Could you repeat that?”
“Please spell that for me.”
This is what I hear when I try to say my name on the phone. I don’t have a strong, booming voice. I find it hard to project my voice and I don’t enunciate very well. This is why sometimes someone might call me “Melissa” rather than “Juliana” – honestly, that just happened yesterday. With a softer, gentler voice, at least on the phone or in larger groups, it can be difficult to be noticed.
In contrast, the description of God’s voice from the Bible is strong.
Deuteronomy 4:30 NASB “When you are in distress and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days you will return to the Lord your God and listen to His voice.”
Psalm 18:13 NASB “The Lord also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.”
Psalm 29:4 NASB “The voice of the Lord is powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic.”
While it might not get my voice heard in crowds, I feel like my writing voice is strong when I show you God’s Word from the Bible! Let His voice be stronger than the other people’s voices in your lives. Let counsel from His word carry more weight than what you heard on TV or read on Instagram. Listen to His voice today.
