A Week of Finding Joy: Where

My grandparents had a working farm for most of their lives. My family would take trips from the city into what we considered “the country”, and visit with our grandparents. Mornings often saw fruit with our cereal, picked fresh from the tree. Evenings brought vegetables straight from the garden. It was better than any produce you could get from the supermarket, food direct from the source.

As Christians, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God. When we live through God’s strength and resources through the Holy Spirit, not trying to do it all on our own, we produce the results, or the fruit, of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22 ESV says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” One of those fruits is joy! We can go straight to the source instead of trying to chase it all over the place. This authentic joy is far superior to what the world tells us will produce joy. Live through the Holy Spirit to find the best joy.

Thanks for joining me on this journey of finding joy. Today was “Where”. Tomorrow we will look at when we will have joy!
