As I mentioned earlier here this year, we are approaching the time where a lot of people abandon their New Year’s resolutions. It can be discouraging to start something and fail. Sometimes, that’s where it ends. Yet it seems like the people who have the most success with their goals are the ones who don’t give up after a setback.
When you feel like you messed up in your walk with God, are you tempted to give up? Maybe you figured out you don’t have enough to get it right with God?
Bad news: you don’t have enough to get things right with God.
Good news: He has all you need to get right with Him!
By the gift of salvation, achieved through Jesus paying the price for us on the cross, He has made it possible to get right with Him. And He has patience for us along the way. Philippians 1:6 NIV tells us “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” I know He will be patient and forgiving as I progress along the journey He has set for me here.
Lord, Thank you for saving me and continuing to work on me! Even when we feel like we are starting from square one, may we remember that You will keep working on us every day! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I am participating in the #hopewriterlife challenge this week. “Progress” was today’s prompt.
