Do you find peace elusive at Christmas? To-do lists that never end, difficult family or friend situations to navigate, and financial demands that threaten to break the bank, can chase the peace away that we had managed to get our hands on!
One of the first verses I memorized as an adult was about peace. I love the promises and reminders about peace found in the Bible. I hope you will find this encouraging as we get deeper into December!
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” Luke 2:14 NASB1995
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 NASB1995
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 NASB1995
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
John 14:27 NASB1995
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15 NASB1995
“In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.”
Psalm 4:8 NASB1995
“The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.”
We are so very thankful for the peace that You provide for us. Help us to rest in You. Even when we are caught up in the details and to-do lists of this season, remind us of how we are serving You this season. Thank You for your perfect peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
