When our youngest child was four years old, my husband thought she had wandered off. He was talking with a friend at a gathering and couldn’t see her. He panicked for a few moments until he realized that she was sitting on his shoulders. His hands were even holding her feet! But because he didn’t see her, he forgot that she was there.
Don’t we treat God the same at times? We get so stuck looking at what is right in front of us that we don’t see or remember how God is with us. Maybe you need the reminder today of this truth. Rest with this knowledge in mind.
Revelations 3:20 ESV “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
Matthew 1:23 NKJV “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Zephaniah 3:17 ESV “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Lord, sometimes it is easy to only see what is facing us, and feel alone. Thank You for always being with us. Help us to remember Your presence and rest in it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
